Chibi Pikachu Pattern

One of the first Chibi Pokemon I intend on doing. In making my first one I knew I had to make a Pikachu. I hope you all enjoy this cute pattern! Just a quick note, since I did not have brown yarn for the fur marks and tail I used black yarn instead.

This pattern is for personal use only. So please do not sell, redistribute, or copy this pattern or any plushies made from this pattern.

Finished Size
This pattern makes one Pikachu that is 4.5'' inches tall (from ear to bottom) and 3'' and wide.

Gauge
The size of your stitches does not matter just as long as they are tight enough to hold the stuffing.

Materials
- acrylic yarn in yellow, red, black, and brown
- crochet hook
- yarn needle
- polyester stuffing
- scissors
- two black safety eyes

Notes
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
dec - decrease
sts - stitches

Pattern
----- Body -----
Use Yellow Yarn
ROW 1: Ch 2, 6 sc around [magic ring] (6 sts)
ROW 2: 2 sc in each around (12 sts)
ROW 3: 2 sc in each around (24 sts)
ROW 4: 3 sc, 2 sc in one [repeat 6x] (30 sts)
ROW 5-12: 30 sc (30 sts)
ROW 13: 4 sc, dec [repeat 6x] (24 sts)
ROW 14-16: 24 sc (24 sts)
ROW 17: 3 sc, dec [repeat 6x] (18 sts)
ROW 18: 2 sc, dec [repeat 6x] (12 sts)
ROW 19: 3 sc, dec [repeat 3x] (9 sts)

Tie off and snip off tail from the bottom of the body. Attach two safety eyes to the body where you want the face to be and add a mouth and nose using black yarn. I usually wait to stuff and bind off the body until I have attached all the details of the face and body.

----- Cheeks -----
Use Red Yarn (Make Two)
ROW 1: Ch 2, 4 sc around [magic ring] (4 sts)
ROW 2: 2 sc in each around (8 sts)

Tie off and leave the tail for attaching the cheeks to where you want them to the face.

----- Fur Marks -----
Use Brown Yarn (Make Two)
ROW 1: Ch 7 (7 sts)
ROW 2: 7 sc (7 sts)

Pikachu has two brown stripes on his lower back.

----- Tail -----
Part One: Use Brown Yarn
ROW 1: Ch 4 (4 sts)
ROW 2-3: 4 sc (4 sts)

Part Two: Use Yellow Yarn
ROW 1: Ch 4 (4 sts)
ROW 2-3: 4 sc (4 sts)

Connect part one of the tail to part two of the tail by lining up the 3rd and 4th stitch of the first part to the 1st and 2nd  of the second part respectfully.

Part Three: Use Yellow Yarn
ROW 1: Ch 3 (3 sts)
ROW 2-3: 3 sc (3 sts)

Connect part three of the tail horizontally to the second part of the tail. This is done by lining up the 1st and 2nd stitch of the third part to the 3rd and 4th stitch of the second part respectfully.

Attach the tail to the body, I positioned mine a little sideways so that you can see it from the front. Bind off the top of the body using yellow yarn.

----- Ears -----
Use Black Yarn (Make Two)
ROW 1: Ch 2, 5 sc around [magic ring] (5 sts)
ROW 2-3: 5 sc (5 sts)
ROW 4-7: 5 sc (5 sts)

Attach the ears to the body. Choosing not to stuff them will make the ears pose-able.

And Ta-da! You are finished with your Chibi Pikachu plushie! Once you have tried out this pattern, feel free to tell me what you think.
